Melanie Nabahani

I am a past fellow of the UCI Writing Project, and I was selected to participate in the UCI Critical Theory Institute's summer program for educators in 1997. Both of these expereinces have influenced my pedagogical approach to teaching and learning. In the past, I have served as poetry editor for The Ear, a literary journal published annually by Irvine Valley College.

Currently, I am actively involved with the Cypress College honors program. I teach at least one honors course each semester, and I represent the Language Arts Dividsion on the campus honors committiee. I am also a memeber of the Academic Senate. Additionally, I am participating in the Online Faculty Academy and developing a course to teach online. For the last few semesters, I have been taking courses in art history.
Poetry, film, cultural and critical theory, popular culture, art history, and food are a few of my fields of academic interest.
