Program Activities
Field trips
Each year in UTAP, students go on a variety of field trips that are related to their class instruction. In the past, students have visited the Museum of Tolerance, The Japanese-American Museum, South Coast Repertory Theater, Mark Taper Theater, and the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. In addition, students go on tours of the local area college and university campuses.

Campus tours
To help students prepare for transfer, UTAP provides tours of the local college campuses. Tours change yearly, depending on student interest. Typically, students tour UCI, CSULB, UCLA, and CSF, among other schools.
Special events
UTAP also sponsors a series of special events, such as the Bolsa Chica Bonfire, Family Night, Monologue Night, and the UTAP Completion Ceremony at the end of the year. UTAP hosts guest speakers, workshops, and performances as well.
Other campus activities
Students in UTAP are encouraged to participate in other college activities, such as special campus events, campus clubs, student government, the campus newspaper, sports programs, music programs, etc. Participation in such activities enriches the student's college experiences, helps to build important leadership skills, and works to develop the student's academic resume.
