Hello and welcome to my Cypress College Webspace.

I'm Lawrence Keel and during the long Fall and Spring semesters I
teach writing, literature and cinema at Cypress College
here in the lovely county of oranges under the shadow of the Matterhorn.
But when my work is done on campus I fight to pursue some of my
other passions: my writing, my photography and my travel. Check out any of the image-buttons
above or the links below. They will take you to some of my writings and to some of my photos.
Especially for my creative writing students---
I expect you to expose yourself by sharing your writing in class,
so I can do no less. Here are two or three
Short Stories and a couple Poems.
Especially for my American Literature students---
We will be reading Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises
later this semester so I've posted some of my many pictures of the Las Fiestas de San Fermin (The Running of the Bulls). I attended las fiestas twice, in 1999 and 2000,
and had a great time watching the crazy flat-bellied young ones run. I can't wait to go back. El encierro, las señoritas,
San Miguel y calamares fritos en la plaza, las señoritas, cafe con leche por la mañana, tapas
y sangria por la tarde, las señoritas....eh? oh, disculpame; I have digressed.
I also have more photos of other places I have
visited (and places you should visit) on my remote
website. I've taken over 6000 photos of Spain and many less of other locales. I'm working to put up some of my snaps from Morocco, Portugal, Switzerland,
Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy also.
Remember, if you are one of my
students, I do expect you to visit
these
same places and more during your next few summers
while you are young and free (if you still are).

Wear comfortable
shoes with a good, grippy sole and . . .
Study Hard, Party Hard — Sleep When You're Old!
