Dr. Lane Igoudin is an adjunct
instructor in the ESL programs at Cypress College, Los Angeles City College,

Dr. Igoudin has been assisting in
the development of SLOs at the ESL Department at Cypress and carrying out the
SLO assessment in the Cypress ESL 185 Advanced Writing/Reading, ESL 62 Advanced
Grammar courses as well as in the ESL 414 U.S. Citizenship Preparation class at
Coastline College. He has also been participating in the statewide CB-21 coding
rubric development process.
He also served on the committee
which developed the ESL 66 Advanced Reading course at Cypress College.
Dr. Igoudin’s research interests focus on adult
student motivation for language learning and the impact of social identity on second
language acquisition. Please visit the Research

In addition, in 2004-2005, Dr.
Igoudin consulted on the development of OpenBook AnyWhere
3.0, an interactive literacy software for teaching English reading,
writing, and pronunciation, by OpenBook
Learning, Inc., Alpharetta, Georgia.
Dr. Igoudin holds a Master of Arts
degree in Linguistics with the option in Teaching ESL and a TESL Certificate
from California State University, Long Beach. While still a student, he
completed a prestigious Project MATCH
Faculty Internship with Los Angeles Community College District. Prior to
changing his career to teaching ESL, Dr. Igoudin had earned a doctorate from
Stanford University in a non-language field and worked for 13 years in business
communications. English is Dr. Igoudin’s primary language, but he also speaks
Russian, French, and Spanish.
